I am a firefighter with Fire District 9 in Bush and aslo an Eagle Scout. I volunteer as a rescue diver riding on the back of a jet skier jumping off when a skier is released into the water. I also help as a beach crew member. This has been an honor working with the Ski Dawgs and also a fun experience for myself.

Hi! My name is Stacey and I've been the Ski Dawg boat driver since it's first clinic in 2017 held at Lock 1 about 8 miles from where the clinics are held now. I was so moved by the experience that my husband and I offered our home property for clinic use which is better suited for skier take offs and returns. I grew up skiing on the Pearl River canal where clinics are held and went on to ski on the NLU Collegiate Waterski team in Monroe, LA where we won a national championship. After graduation my husband of 32 years and I moved back to the Pearl River Canal because of my passion for waterskiing. I've loved skiiing my whole life and the opprotunity to share it with Ski Dawg participants has been a great joy! As the boat driver I get a birds eye view of the parents faces full of smiles and happy tears as they watch their loved one enjoy an experience they thought they would never get to see!

Hello, Tim Ripp here. My job involves me going to a lot of different hospitals and surgery centers to repair and maintain medical equipment for them.

Stacey actually invited me to come out either the last clinic of the first year, or the first clinic of the second year, I can’t remember! She said that they needed jet skis and divers to follow the skiers to assist them if they fell, I had a jet ski so I went out. I swam competitively from 8 years old until I was 18 so I figured I could help out as a diver.
I honestly have to say that the first clinic I attended was incredible! It was amazing to watch the skiers, and their parents and family members as well. To see the skiers’ faces light up with smiles and laughter and to watch their family members actually cry tears of joy to see their child do something that they probably never thought they would see them do, had me hooked!! It makes you feel like you are part of something so much bigger than yourself! It’s an incredible feeling and very humbling!
I will be a Ski-Dawg volunteer until I just can’t walk or swim anymore,,, and then I’ll become a skier! Lol

Hi my name is Jeff Bloom. I met Ski Dawg board member Jamie by chance at NOLA PowerSports. Ski Dawgs came up in our conversation and I asked what I could do to help and next thing you know, my Jet Ski and I have been volunteers ever since. I was born and raised in Algiers. Graduated from UNO with a bachelor of science degree where I met my wife Kerry. We’ve been together almost 30 years and have an 18-year-old son Davis graduating from Mandeville High this year.
I’m in orthopedic Sales(spine, knees, hips, and shoulders). Things I enjoy are the Iron Man triathlon, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, swimming Lake Ponchatrain with friends(in 2020), LSU/Saints games, hiking, camping, fishing(of course on my Jet Ski!), and anything endurance related!
I’m most proud of being a husband, father and volunteering since I was young. Ski-dawgs is the greatest organization I’ve ever been a part of. The pride and joy the skiers and family get from their loved ones on a ski is unmatched. I’m thankful for the friendships and bonds made with participants, parents and volunteers. I’m so humbled and grateful to have met David, Jamie and the rest of the crew as they were ahead of their and starting this organization. I’m so honored to be part of ski-dawgs and look forward to it every summer…so if you’re on a ski, we’re right behind you-and we've got you!

Hi, my name is Lauren. I found out about Ski Dawgs in September 2019 from a Jet Ski facebook group that was looking for a volunteer with a jet ski to have their last clinic of the year. I had no plans so I said why not! It was the most humbling experience I have ever had that day. Six months later in preparation for Covid, I had a bad accident on the black ski, and then I was in a wheelchair for 7 weeks, and missed 4 months of work as a Respiratory Therapist! It may have been a blessing in disguise. It helped me feel what it was like to be the patient, on the other side of the bedrail. And also what some of our participants experience in a wheelchair. Obviously I couldn’t volunteer that year. 2021 was probably the most I got to go. In 2022, I moved further away and with my work schedule working every other weekend, I can’t make all the clinics. Last year I had bilateral knee replacement which kept me out of the season. Hope to see yall in September.
Robin does a lot behind the scenes that goes unnoticed. She a blessing!

This is year #2 for me to volunteer with Ski-Dawgs. I am Robin Singletary Walters… Mom, Mawmaw, school bus driver, and volunteer! I went to high school with David. Years later, we connected on Facebook as most of us who have lost contact with each other do. I have followed Ski-Dawgs on Facebook from the beginning and even tried to get my late husband to go check out Ski-Dawgs after his own spinal cord injury.
I am a school bus driver with St Tammany Parish School Board. I have 2 sons ( one of which volunteered with Ski-Dawgs last year ) and one granddaughter. When David and I started dating in 2023, I started helping out wherever I was needed, mostly doing the stuff participants don’t see… making copies of the waiver forms, preparing lunches for clinics, and attending events spreading the word about our organization. There is a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes in order to get ready for a clinic! Last year at the clinics, I helped with signs up and generally wherever I was needed. As a stroke survivor myself, I am grateful that organizations like this exist! I was lucky enough to make a nearly 100% recovery, but many do not.
It is an honor to be a part of an organization!
Life’s short… take advantage of every opportunity to make the most of it!

We came to volunteer at Ski Dawgs through our connection with Ainsley’s Angels.
Initially, we were a combination of confused, interested, and excited when hearing about Ski Dawgs. We weren’t exactly sure how it would work, but we were excited to help out. After showing up the first day and realizing one of the jobs would be to leap off a jet ski at high speed to help anyone who fell off mid-run, Scott knew which job he wanted. Jessica was excited to get each of the skiers set up and have a chance to get to know them. She also helps to make sure the first-timers don’t get too nervous. Of course, we are both happy to do any job needed to make each ski day a success.
At Ainsley’s, we are, for the most part, helping people who aren’t able to run the races themselves. Ski Dawgs is so diverse. We get to be part of this experience for some people who just want the thrill of a tube pull all the way up to the more adventurous people who pop the rope and go for a few tricks.
Every Ski Dawgs day is a day of joy for everyone. We are all energized by the experience and feel very lucky to be part of each of these events.
We will continue to highlight our awesome volunteers. Each clinic takes 15-20 volunteers and we could not do what we do without each and everyone of them!
